The poet stands on earth – in time
And sees beyond the walls
That binds us with our hands and minds
And truth they can recall
To see the light beyond the dark
And hear the laughter there
Of children singing – laughter full
These words – they long – to show
To give a helping hand to those
Who’s hands are not yet free
To share a lifting word
Who’s minds just want to be
So it matters not – what befalls
What harm or pain may do
A poets sight – I share with you
