Compassion stirs the soul to wake—
Its pulse a holy flame—
The poor, in shadows, call to us—
God’s heart within their name—
Betrayal cuts, a friend’s sharp heel—
Its sting like frost to bone—
Yet truth, in Christ, does overcome—
His love through dark has shone—
The lies of foes, a whispered snare—
In darkness they abide—
But God, the truth, upholds the just—
His mercy is our guide—
As Jesus walked, the way, the life—
His parables unfold—
The least of these, His sacred charge—
Their care makes faith grow bold—
In sickness, David sought God’s grace—
His soul, in sin, did cry—
The Lord, who heals, restores the weak—
And lifts them to the sky—
The light we’re called to bear abroad—
Like salt, to season earth—
In love, we speak the truth divine—
And spark its holy birth—
Eternal God, from age to age—
His truth shall never fade—
We choose His light, or dwell in shade—
His mercy, our crusade—
